ABOUT IPA-GHANA
The Institute for Policy Alternative (IPA) is a Ghana-based research and practice organization established in 2001 to promote practice-research interfaces using citizen engagement on alternative policy analysis, development and pro-poor advocacy. IPA-Ghana is located in Tamale, the capital of the Northern Regions of Ghana, where poverty trends have been highest in the country, and where resilience of poor people is resulting in significant changes to their lives and livelihoods.
IPA’s core competencies are in developing methodologies for gathering evidence among citizen groups, civil society organizations and members of Parliament; conducting training on these tools; applying them in localized as well as national engagements; generating feedback with local people most affected by change and development; and catalyzing public policy reforms through these.
